How We Match Your RFQ to a CNC Shop
No bidding platform and no blast to a long list of shops. One RFQ, read once, matched against machine capability and part fit. Here is exactly how that works.
What we match on
Five things decide which shops see your RFQ. We do not send your part to every shop in the network and let them fight over it.
- Machine typeBasic milling, multi-axis milling, turning or both. A part with an undercut or a compound angle only goes to a shop set up for it.
- MaterialAluminum, steel, stainless, titanium and plastics cut differently. We match against the material you named, not a shop's full catalog.
- Part envelope and toleranceSize, weight and the tightest tolerance on the drawing decide whether a shop's machine bed and inspection gear can hold the job.
- QuantityOne prototype and a 500-piece repeat order suit different shop sizes. We read the quantity field before we pick a match, not after.
- RegionIf you name a preferred region on the RFQ form, we match inside it. Leave it open and we match on fit alone, wherever the shop sits.
The process, step by step
From your RFQ to a quote in your inbox. Reply within 24 business hours at every stage.
You send the RFQ
A STEP file, a PDF drawing or photos of the old part, plus material, quantity, tolerance and when you need it.
We check the fit
We read the part against the five criteria above before it goes anywhere. A part we cannot place well gets a straight answer, not a bad match.
We match up to 3 shops
Only shops whose machines, materials and part size fit the job see the request, as a preview with no name or contact details on it.
Shops quote you directly
Each matched shop contacts you with a price and a lead time. You compare, ask questions and order from the one you pick. The order stays between you and the shop.
What this is not
Being clear about the limits is part of matching well. Ask the shop directly for anything on this list.
- Not a facility auditWe match on machines, materials and capacity as the shop states them. We do not inspect shop floors or verify equipment lists ourselves.
- Not a certification checkIf you need ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100 or a material certificate, ask the shop for proof before you order. We do not certify this for you.
- Not a party to the orderPrice, lead time and terms are agreed between you and the shop. We take no commission and we are not on the invoice.
- Not a guarantee of a matchIf your part does not fit any shop we work with well, we say so instead of sending it anyway.

How do you decide which shops get my RFQ?
We read the part, the material and the quantity, then send it only to shops whose machines and part envelope fit that job. A shop set up for small precision parts never sees a request for a large multi-axis job, and the reverse is also true.
What if none of the matched shops fit in the end?
Tell us. We adjust the match and send it to a different shop rather than leave you with a bad quote. This costs you nothing, since the service is free for buyers.
Do you check the shops yourselves?
We match on stated machines, materials and capacity. We do not audit shop facilities or verify certifications ourselves. Ask the shop directly for proof of any certification, material cert or inspection report you need before you order.
Can I ask for a specific region or a certification?
Yes. Name a preferred region and any certification you need on the RFQ form. We match against what you asked for, though a narrow requirement can mean fewer than 3 shops.
Why 3 shops and not more?
Past 3, you spend more time comparing quotes than the extra option is worth, and each shop who takes the lead knows it is not competing against ten others. We send fewer when only one or two shops fit the part well.
Have a drawing ready?
Send it and we will tell you within 24 business hours which shops fit, or if none do.
